Vegan French toasts are an ideal breakfast for those who used to love croutons (or grenki, as they’re known in post-Soviet countries). I was one of those and I have never thought that there would be a vegan alternative to these delicious snacks. the affair with cooking them dragged really long as I was afraid that I couldn’t make them. Nevertheless, after having finally done this croutons I’m really proud and satisfied with the result. I would definitely recommend you to cook this nutritious and tasty vegan breakfast.
– 1 cup vanilla soy milk;
– 2 Tbsp flour;
– 1 Tbsp sugar;
– 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast;
– 1 Tsp cinnamon;
– 1 French loaf.
- Mix all the ingredients well with a blender or whip with a wire whisk.
- Slice off pieces of a loaf (alternatively you can use white bread).
- Add a bit of vegetable oil on a pan. Heat it up.
- Dip pieces of the loaf in the mix. Put them on a pan and fry on both sides until golden-brown.
As I have already noted, vegan French toasts are tasty and substantial. You can serve them with your favourite fruits. And also don’t forget about jams and syrups that might make toast more tender and soft. You can decorate it with powdered sugar, vegan whipped cream or mint leaves.
Bon appetit = ^ _ ^ =
P. S. there’s also an option for those who doesn’t really like sweet toasts. If we change the recipe and remove such ingredients as sugar and cinnamon we can get a completely different meal. Add black salt (to your taste) and pepper, some other spices to your liking and instead of vanilla soy milk we can use usual unsweetened milk. The process of cooking is similar to the one described above. When serving you can any vegetables or sauces.
